where we are going to live??hint somewhere in Virginia, I can’t get it out of my mind kinda like adoption, since last Aug It has been festering in my mind..all things pertaining to Virginia kinda like “Georgia On My Mind”
We traveled the entire (mostly entire) US for two months straight the places that made an impression on us was Virginia and NY those were our favorite places, there is this town in Virginia that seems oh so perfect,
One is it is considered by a Washington Post writer to have ” more restaurants per capita than France” there are 60 just in the old downtown, its a serious foodie town they even have their own “foodie” mag, and THREE farmers markets, about 20+ parks, a skateboard park, the library looks like the white house and its FREE(ours is 80 a year for a lame selection)
there’s three movie theaters,
They have the longest pedestrian only outdoor mall( longer then Santa Monica)
an Orthodox church in the town!!
they even have a SERIOUS kids guide year round,
as well as being 45 min to the ski slopes (we are like 2 hours away now) the town is pretty conservative but very into arts and culture they even have a..I can’t remember but I’m sure its something great, I just came back to this post..
Its also Wine country and horse country, and they have the most beautiful university in the entire world, three pronounced presidents resided in this town.
There’s a music scene and they have a major photography festival( called “look three”) its 2 1/2 hours to DC, one hour to Richmond and 6 hours to NYC, 2 1/2 hours to the beach and its WAAAAAAARM water, pretty much its heaven on earth, property tax is so stinkin low its L.A. low,
The town has 60,000 residents with 20,000 being college student, there are like 20 + private schools in the town and they have a killer renaissance Arts school with a home school program.
Really I could go on and on, there is a cooking school in the old town( for real), they give out flowers everyday to people with more then six kids, the town has free gold hanging from the trees and you can keep the library books for as long as you live.
Done!
