9 is the magic number May 14, 2008
Today was an amazing beautiful day after months and months of not so patiently waiting to be the “legal” parents of
Emmanuel Challa Joseph and Solomon Mulugeta (TBA) , we went to court in Ethiopia at around 4:00AM our time
we woke to obvious anxiousness and anticipation as we waited by all three of our phones and both computers for the
call from our agency, the second I stepped away from the computer at 11:39 AM, we got the e-mail at 11:41 from the agency saying
we had passed and now we are indicated on their birth certificates as their PARENTS, I didn’t know this yet.
D came pounding up the stairs in his gardening clogs he had a freaked out panicked look in his eyes, but when I glanced at the $30 dollar
bottle of champagne in his hand I knew it must be good, he grabbed me and started bawling.
We decided on a bottle of sparkling lemonade instead, and Liam mentioned that he was going to be drunk because D poured him two glasses
of what he thought was champagne!
Today we didn’t get much done since our minds and hearts have left here and are in Ethiopia now.
Thanks be to God for this wonderful adventure and for bringing us Solomon and Emmanuel.
They look like such sweet boys and I can’t wait to be their mommy.
